Both upstairs and downstairs denizens of Downton glammed up for the sequel’s New York premiere.
The new Downton Abbey movie has almost arrived! While the film, titled Downton Abbey: A New Era won’t officially hit theaters on this side of the pond until Wednesday, the stars of the beloved upstairs-downstairs drama hit the red carpet last night for the film’s NYC premiere at Lincoln Center, and suffice to say that there were no dowdy maids frocks in sight. Here, take a look at some of the nights biggest red carpet moments.
Hugh Dancy, who appears in the film as a Hollywood director, and his wife, Claire Danes.
Elizabeth McGovern, who plays Cora, sported her stunning silver locks on the red carpet.
Lady’s Maid no more, Joanne Froggatt (Anna) shone in a sequined black crop top and skirt.
Raquel Cassidy (Miss Baxter) made a serious statement in a ruffled floral number.
Kevin Doyle, who plays Mr. Molesley.
Laura Carmichael aka Edith wore a black gown with a ruffled texture.
No one would mistake glamorous Phyllis Logan for her housekeeper character Mrs. Hughes.
Michelle Dockery (Mary) and Laura Carmichael (Edith) shared some sisterly love on the red carpet.
Allen Leech and Jessica Blair Herman looked sweet is complementary shades of rose.
Elizabeth McGovern (Cora) and her on-screen husband Hugh Bonneville (Robert) made quite the couple on the red carpet.
Downton Abbey writer and creator Julian Fellowes.
Downton wasn’t the only Julian Fellowes creation to make an appearance on the red carpet. Several actors, including Christine Baranski, from Fellowes’s The Gilded Age were also in attendance.
Cynthia Nixon, who also appears in The Gilded Age.
Donna Murphy, another Gilded Age star.
